life on the coast

A bit on the wild side:

I`ve been continuing my coastal photography project with the Kestrels, and it looks like there are some hungry chicks that should fledge in the next few weeks.

Disturbance is always a problem, and this year is no exception, but it looks as though the adults are so far continuing to catch and take food in to the young.

The next few weeks are critical though, but I hope to be able to continue to monitor their progress to the point of the young ones fledging around the first week in July, and then as they get used to start fending for themselves for the week or so after.

Watch this site and my twitter feed for further info and hopefully another happy ending.
