Back on the Gower Peninsular:
Summer is often seen as a fairly flat time of year in relation to birdlife, but with young fledging and the later ones still busy feeding the young. there is activity to be seen.
On a recent visit to cover my Kestrel project, this male Stonechat was keeping an eye on me and gave me good opportunity for some photography.
Fabulous little birds with a snapping call (similar to stones being knocked together).
Alongside Stonechat there have been Linnet, Whitethroat, Chough, my Kestrels of course, and even a surprise Weasel.
Yesterday confirmed that two Kestrel have now fledged from the particular place I had been monitoring, and within a week – 10 days they will disperse to investigate the wild coastal peninsular.
I`m hoping to get to Skomer island very soon before the Puffins leave, and also be at the Wales Airshow weekend too.
More news soon ….
